When I want to feel old, I start thinking about how long I’ve been playing games.
When FEH released, I hadn‘t finished school or held a full-time job. I was still using my Nintendo 2DS, and Fire Emblem: Awakening was still my favorite game at the time. In 2017 I knew almost nothing about FEH, except for the fact that Lucina was in it and that I wanted to summon her.
The exact timeline is a blur - it’s been 5-6 years since I started playing FEH, and maybe 3-4 since I pulled my first Lucina.
As of this week, that copy is finally +10:
If you looked at this build and felt underwhelmed…you’re not alone.
“Fast sword infantry unit” is a much more crowded niche today than it was in 2017. Even ignoring the aptly-named “godswords” in PvP, I myself have several other sword users in my Barracks - one of whom has been my favorite and lead unit for several years:
Funnily enough, I think my Lucina can out-Spd my Masked Marth, under the right conditions:
These bonuses put her at 85 Atk and 68 Spd.
That might be the highest offensive stat spread I’ve ever hit, but it’s hard for me to get excited about that. Lucina took far too long to finish, and she was already powercrept by the time I’d pulled her last copy.
Lucina is still one of my favorite characters, and I’m still glad that she finally came home. I just wish it could have happened sooner, when I had more PvE content to welcome her with.
