He’s got balanced stats and can be fine, sure
However, I think that balance hurts him especially compared to someone like Jeralt:
You can also give him the arcane lance and even run Ignis if you want, or stick to bonfire if you are worried about tempo skills.

Conrad can be one hell of a riding tank, but with such a low Atk stat he’s completely reliant on special activations. Some months ago I thought about a build like this before scrapping that idea shortly after since Gatrie also has Crafty Fighter
Firing of an Ignis surely would hurt with that 49 Def, but outside of that he’s a sitting duck. I’ll wait for his refine in April, maybe IS feels generous and gives him… something

I’m not exagerating he’s hands down my best and most reliable F2P unit. Jeralt kills, tanks and supports. Best sugadaddy

I suppose, I understand the effect of null follow up and buffs to defense and res, but he passively reduced attack and def of foes in and out of combat so that’s redundant compared to def/res smoke 3

Main effect is to deny follow ups. The Atk debuff of his weapon does not always affect the desired enemy so it’s just a side effect to ensure everyone is debuffed.
Plus it comes on F!Gustav for the rest of the fodder lol
