What’s up guys. Season 1 ended with @TMFM emerging victorious, congratulations!
As Season 1 concludes, I will be making the following changes for the next season based on the feedback I received. I hope that with these amendments, the league will be more fun for everyone. The exact rules will be in the next post, but below is a summary of the amendments.
Battle Rule Changes
Rather than only naming 5 units to be fielded for the tournament, each participant can now register 7 units (2 additional units). Players are allowed to make changes within the 7 units stated in the registration. Players are also not required to announce their leader skill of choice. It is hoped that with this change, players are punished less for simply having a team that gets hard countered but rather rewards prediction and execution.
Removal of Single Round Robin
One issue that the league faced is that usually, the blue side had a much higher win rate compared to the red side. This is difficult to reconcile in a single round-robin format. After some investigation, it is found that playing back-to-back in a free duel will likely in both players switching sides. From Season 2 onwards, all matches will be back-to-back double round-robin. This ensures that players will get to be on both sides of the map, making the asymmetry less obvious.
Championship Qualification
Short and simple, instead of the group winner advancing to the next stage, the runners-up will also qualify.
Dynamic Surrender Penalty
Penalties for surrenders are slightly adjusted to be less punishing for scoops in the later turns.
