Most of the time I do run Arena I run into at least 1 melee unit, not always but a good amount. Sure are they typically a Duo unit yes, but still workable. As I see it as long as that 1 fight Hans does get her gets to fully use his weapon aka getting that follow up attack, it’s putting in use. All my runs this season I was stuck using Nephenee as my bonus unit and she was able to get a kill every match despite having an EP build.

And that brings up one more crucial point.
There have been multiple times where NY Kyza has to do their job of being a melee wall and I have to throw them out to protect my other units from, say, an L-Sigurd
But depending on the map and the other enemies, I can’t always do that AND keep Kyza solo. And that’s where Hans’ weapon unfortunately falls a little short.
When it works, it works great. But what do you do when you’re crammed in a corner and can’t get him by himself without him getting sniped by the enemy Ninjorrin?

I really think bonus Arena units need some form of DC if they’re not ranged themselves. There are so many ranged units you’re gonna face and a reliable EP against at least half of them is your safest bet given hard access to high scoring positioning/refresh assists. One can very well keep running into teams fully composed of units like L!Lilina, Eitri, Duo Corring, Duo Dagr, Duo Chrom, etc and, many times, only one melee foe will be present if at all.
My run with bonus Muarim went much better with Distant Pressure.

I mean I did say depending on the map and season did I not. Some seasons are easier due to the Legendaries being a bit underwhelming so you focus more on those Duo units more, while some maps are easier to tank in due to fort’s reducing the damage you take.

The banner was perfect for Candace to appear as a GHB and my opinion of him has always been bad, so for me is purely fodder.
Edit: also he will probably be a menace in arena tbh

Lol I just did his GHB and my base F-Robin doubled and destroyed him because his allies couldn’t leave him alone. Also Lulls go brrr. Don’t underestimate them just because they’re old now
I guess it depends on your teams but after spending so much time fighting Duo Corrins, Chrobins, Yuris, L-Dimitris, and more Brave Seliphs than I cared to see when I have no movement assists, Hans looks manageable to me. If he trips me up it’ll be through failing to get a bonus unit kill
I never had trouble with the swarm of Yen’fays that appeared in Arena starting last year

I may be wrong, but my Fallen Ike is failing more and more to kill people there and that ice mirror part of his weapon scares me a bit. But it won’t be until two months when i may know if im overestimating it (i could be 🥲)

This does not surprise me whatsoever. Arena is a place extremely unfriendly to fast swords that rely on %DR. Just look at what popped up when I clicked one Advanced match with my usual squad
This is why I swapped Rutger out for NY Kyza. You have to PP stuff like this and you have to have the attack to one shot because doubling this shit is ass, and Rutger didn’t have the Atk to do that
F-Ike has more Atk than Rutger but he relies a lot on enemy debuffs to shine, so if no one’s running a Menace you’re kind of up the creek there
Hans will drop like a fly to my L-Nanna and L-Veronica, but you may want to consider NFU on your Ike in the future

NY Kyza has an extremely good Lynja matchup. As long as you give them Guard support she cannot scratch them in my experience. I’ve used them as Lynja bait many times.

Should’ve been Gonzales’ prf.
He’s strong, unapologetically evil and to some entertainment, and worth the investment if you do invest in him but why does he outclass F!Shez’s prf so badly and recently.
The more disliked you are in your mainline game and being a GHB means you automatically get a great prf to make up for your bad popularity. One of FEH’s golden rules.
Look at Kronya, Hilda, Riev, Iago, etc and then look at well liked characters like Cormag, Heath, Gonzales, Salem, etc without prfs because people will like them enough to build them.
