I want your thoughts on Robin build

So,
I went ahead and decided to just +10 male Robin, as I already had him at +4 and I had enough feathers and copies of him to do so.
This is my first time trying to actually use a mage in a serious fashion and not just as an extra on a team, so I would like your thoughts. I have him on a team with an Astram that has Hone Atk 4.

Well… uhmmm…
No

Pretty cool. The bond seal is a good idea, as well as swap, BD3, and def/res link 3.

I think I’d try to use his PRF more though, considering that gives you an edge over colorless as well as reds. And since you’re working with BD3, consider pairing him with either a bladetomer or OG Eirika with Atk/Spd link 3.

Eirika’s Prf acts like BD3 if she’s close to Robin, so you’ll have two double-full buffed units ready, covering three of four colors, with one swap or reposition.

Keep in mind though 53hp is great, but popular panic and sudden panic users may have higher hp than that. That and I’ve seen a decent number of panics staffs making a resurgence, so be careful.

Giving an Ally of his Atk/Spd Link to work with him might be worth considering then :feh_maethink:

Oh, then you might wanna get him some speed support. Maybe an Atk/Spd Link user.

Hmmmm… I don’t have Atk/spd link on me right now, so maybe I can give Astram Hone spd as a sacred seal, or should I keep the Close Guard seal? Or maybe give him Spd/def link instead?

You don’t want to HAVE to find a link to make this work so don’t worry about Atk/Spd right now. A hone Spd would help a bit better than a hone Atk, so maybe look into that.

You did great for this build, but you should remember this for later: BD3 is best utilized on units who have DC capabilities (Fjorm, Ike, etc.) They can cover both offense and defense equally while taking full advantage of BD3. I’ll add a picture of a Fjorm on my friend’s list who’s been crowned in arena over 70 times so you can see what potential that combo has.

Not quite. Technically she copies his buffs. So it does achieve a similar effect but isn’t quite the same.

Also this is definitely true. That’s why I gave it to Nowi. She has an innate DC weapon and a well balanced stats. And she’s easier to merge than units like Ike and Fjorm.

True, I just look at that as a budget BD3. However I’m a moron and gave her BD3 as well… So once in awhile she gets up to 70/60/50/50 with help from a def/res link or rally

Wouldn’t expect someone to build Robin like that!

Fancy stuff!

My M!Robin

I use him for arguably his best role (from my experience), being a supportive specialist. The C is to help Laslow proc Glimmer with every time he counters in Vantage Range.

Not going to lie, but this thread is making want to finish mine.

How is this

It’s definitely… different. I’ve never seen anyone build Robin like this. But it’s really passive. This will tank stuff but is extremely vulnerable to specials due to the lack of Guard, and it does very little damage because Aether is such a slow charging special and Robin has extremely mediocre Attack. Not only that, you’re only doubling other tanks with only 36 Speed and no QR. Blarowl helps a little bit but frankly this Robin just isn’t doing much of anything except charging enemy specials.

I was referring to OP, not you. Your build is okay. Pretty typical CC tanky mage fare.

Well,
I changed his tome from Blarowl to Blarblade, which increases his attack from 50 to 52. Adding the +7 attack coming from Astram, he hits 59 attack and since I have BD3 that becomes 66 attack. If I’m able to activate the Link skills, I’d get +6 to def, res and spd (spd from Astram) which then gets doubled to +12. This means that my stats become: 66/48/48/41. Now the attack is good, but when we add 25 on top of that due to Blarblade, we get a whopping 91 attack (I think since I have never used a blade tome before).
I rest my case.
